fuse holders 308

Since i had to wait for my new fans i decided to change a problemarea of the 308, the fusebox.
These are known to overheat, melt and cause al lot of resistance.
Mine did at the fuelpump terminal.

You can do three things,
1. buy them new, spend a fortune and have the same problems again in a few years.
2. buy a set from Birdman in the USA he makes new ones for glas fuses.
3. make it yourselves.

Well i wanted to make them myselves so i could use fuseholders for modern bladestyle fuses.
I looked on the internet and found Hella bladestyle fuse holders.
To be able to put two wires on a terminal i also ordered splitters.

Cause i only needed two connections i cut of one of the tabs on the three way splitters.

To connect two or three fuse holders i drilled a small hole through them, put a copper wire trough and soldered it up.
Then put a extra wire on top of the tabs and soldered that up to.

I made it so three holes in the supportplate line up with the original mountingpoints of the fuseholders.
This way i use the original bolts to put the fuseholders in place.

Is it any better now?

Well it feels like it, its very subjective i know.
Buth it feels like the car starts better, and the windows go up a little faster.

In any case the fuelpump terminal doesn't get hot anymore.
And the new fans run without the terminals getting hot.

It just feels better all a round
