Closed road (Padborg Park and Jyllandsringen in Denmark)
F355 Challenge driven by Casper Elgaard: about 200 km/h
F430 Spider: about 200 km/h (as a passenger)
Public road:
F 328 GTS: 220 km/h (as a passenger)
F 348 ts: 200 km/h (as passenger)
In my dad's Toyota 190 km/h - driving myself! ;)
Still waiting for my first ride, behind the steeringwheel of a Ferrari! Looking forward to it! ;
On a public road with the roof on and just me in the car.
On the 31 in Germany comming from Gronau and going north i managed to get de dail way off the scale of my '81 308 GTSi that ends at 280 km.
It was hovering over the indicator arrow of the right turn light.
At the point i drove that fast the road goes down a little for several kilometers so that helped.
On a public road with the roof off and two persons in the car.
250 km in southern Germany coming from Italy through Austria.
On a closed road with the roof off and two persons in the car.
I just failed to hit 250 km on the same airbase as Eric.
These runs to where all totally legal.
grtngs JW
All my runs of cause where full throttle.

I hit top-speed (around 260+ I guess) on the Autobahn for a few long, long minutes. What a rush !!! Back across the border, backing of to 160 seems like slow-motion :

Ha-ha; nice topic! Boys with toys! I thought you were all decents house/family-men..... :p! 260- 280 km p/h as if it is nothing! :D. woow.
Well, i'm not ashamed to say than that I have driven 'only' 250, with passenger. But ehhh.... it was on a public road, saterday morning 08.00u..... in.. ehh.. holland ;). Was not entirely full throttle, but much more I don't think it will get.
With a motorcycle... 300 km. Full throttle. In Germany. Fantastic. Underneath a viaduct with 280, &^%$#$%^& : that starteld me by like an idiot! Found my heart suddenly pounding in my throat.... But.. it was nice! :D

Did something like this (bit slower: 220-230 I think?) also with me inside the car, on that long open road next to the water (nieuwe waterweg). And I think that was the fastest I've ever driven in a car. My mom's Volkswagen also hits 220 on topspeed (my father drove, I was next to him, on the German Autobahn). Think that was it :) Nothing special ;)
Ow, on my bicycle I went 95 km/u, down from a winding mountain in France, filled with cars :D And full throttle on a flat way (sprint): 58 km/u

Well, I don't own a Ferrari (yet), but have been able to reach some nice speeds...
250 in my dad's BMW E60 530d (fully loaded, German Autobahn as a passenger)
260 - 270 in Sabine Schmitz' RingTaxi (BMW E60 M5) on the Nurburgring (passenger obviously)
235 in my brothers previous Honda Civic V-tec (open road, driving myself)
220 in Lamborghini Gallardo on the straight of Zandvoort circuit (driving myself)
200 in a Porsche 997 4S on the straight of Zandvoort circuit (also driving myself)
195 in my own car: Opel/Vauxhall Vectra 2.0i (for those policemen monotoring this board, I'm not telling where it was ;))
110 on a friends scooter (70cc) couple of years ago, heavily modified, recorded with a GPS :)
Still waiting for a ride as a passenger in my dads' F355 GTB; hopefully next sunday we can edit this reply :

Maybe mine was also 59 than :D I'm not very sure anymore about this ;) It's a couple of years ago when I could reach such speeds... Started with study; stopped cycling :( At that age, you have to drive with limited gears (52 front, 14 back) so your topspeed is limited to that too. But Reiben: how do you reach such speeds? Do you also have such a nice bike as Marcel does? Maybe that Ferrari-logo does help :D I'll have a look for such a logo, when I'm gonna search for a new bike :

Respect boys,
That you can and dare to ride a bike at these speeds.
Very dangerous indeed.
Last time i rode a bike really fast it was on my mountainbike 4 years ago.
It was after a party with lots of beer. (Grolsch ofcause)
21th gear, standing on the paddles.
Riding on the street when suddenly there was a small wall, about 50 cm high, a divider for a parkinglot that i didn't see. (Yellow stones in the street, Yellow stones in the wall, Yellow streetlights and of cause i had too much to drink)
So i drove in it at full speed, about 30/35 km.
Next thing i remember it was a good 20 minutes later and i was lying in the parkinglot besides a broken wall.
When i wanted to mound the bicycle i saw the frame was bent, (no cheap model, it was a Raleigh) although the front wheel was straight.
Oh yeh and i had a little pain in my right chest and blood on my face.
So i walked home for an hour with my bicycle on my shoulder.
When i went to de hospital a few days later because the pain in my chest got worse they told i had broken 2 ribs and brused the rest on the right side.
Had to sleep on a sofa for serveral weeks cause i couldn't turn over.
during this time my face and knees turnes all colours of the rainbow from the brusing.
No really i feel a lot safer driving my car at 250 km than a bike at 25 km.

Looks pretty much like to something that happened to me 10 years ago. I drove home on my mountainbike late at night after a visit to the pub, in that time I drunk Apfelcorn and lets say I had enough ( :D ). I was riding at speed, also 30+ when I decided to take a shortcut through the grass to antoher road, the next moment I remember flying through the air and landing hard in the grass. The frontwheel of my bike had dissapeared in a hole in the grass and so I was launched like a missile. Because of the alcohol I had a pretty soft landing, but the next day I discovered I was brused all over my body and one month later I started to have backproblems resulting in a hernia :( (wich disapeared after 1,5 year).
I think I would have broken every bone in my body if I was sober at that moment, but on the other hand if I was sober I would never have taken this shortcut at such a high speed :

I had kind of a comparable experience some 25 years ago (huh, I'm getting old...), I nearly teared one ear from my head, a doctor had to stitch it 5 times. At that age I only drank Appelsientje, so it was just stupidity :
On a public road: 290 km/h in my 355 (btw, this was in Germany and legal ;))
Closed road: 240 km/h at airbase Twente (Holland)
Ciao, E.
I'm reading a lot of posts on people which have been riding through Germany on high speeds. However I have had an discussion (argument) with someone at my current internship (The Police Academy of the Netherlands, No I'm not a copper). He was under the assumption that if you drive above the advised speed limit of 130 Km/h the insurance has the legal right to exclude you from any type of financial backing if you cause or are involved in an accident.
I however belief it is dependent on your type of insurance, even for a foreigner, however I'm question whether this is true.
Can somebody tell me what the correct statement on this is, please
OK, back to the essentials:
270 km/h full throttle in a 328 GTS; very scary for the car as it is not made for those speeds
290 km/h in a Testarossa, still gas left; very scary for me, at that moment you start thinking about life, wife and tires..
Now my personal highest speeds driving;
Ferrari 348tb - 280 Km/h -- The Netherlands (Driver)
Ferrari Testarossa - 210 Km/h -- The Netherlands (Passenger)
Audi A8 2.5 TDI - 245 Km/h (max) -- Germany (Driver)
Dodge Viper (earliest model) 300 Km/h -- The Netherlands (Passenger)
That's about it I belief..... however I still would like to have a go at a Porsche (because to have good judgment it is essential to have driven every brand of car once in your lifetime
.....and tires...
15 year old tyres :

Same story with me Huisje. About 4 years ago I also was a cyclist. I didn't do any competition but I practised with guys who did. And sometimes I could handle them :D My best thing was my sprint, so once I sprinted on a big road towards a line and then I reached 59km/h with a normal race bike. My gears: 52 front, 12 back. But I think I can't sprint so fast anymore

I drove 275 in a 348, the same in a 355 but the 360 I drove topspeed around 295-300 and i can tell you it is F"*king hard! but what a thrill!!!!:D
After this weekend a little update about those speeds:
- Fastest speed on the road (normal car) 180 km/h with Golf 4
- Fastest speed on the road (Ferrari) 200 km/h with Robert this weekend :D

For me it is:
Mercedes SL 500 - 240 Km/h (driver)
Aston Martin DB7 GT - 230 Km/h (passenger)
I think there were some other cars also faster than 200 km/h (Pagani Zonda F, Ferrari 328 GTS with Robert(?)), but I don't know how fast that was. But that was as a passenger

It looks faster indeed. But I checked the instruments a few times and I know for sure that we drove 200 km/h when we went back after the "Van Mast Tot Mast Rally" (I asked u also then and you told me we drove 200 Robert) And at the end we saw Onno and Lex again who left 5 minutes before us. A little update.
Fastest speed driven in a Ferrari as passenger, about 230-240 km/h, on danish motorway, in a 360 Modena.
And about 80 km/h driving my self. It was the first time I drove a Ferrari by my self. Amazing!

I know the owner of the 360. Michael Morell, who also have some other F's, and he is driving in the Ferrari Scandinavia Challenge, tema boss for Racing9000.
He invided us (WeLoveFerrari.dk), to come and visit him, and see the location of Racing9000 and to see his cars.
We were talking in the garage, when he said, that we were going to have a ride, in his 360. He asked, "And you have got your driver licens, right?"
We both smiled, and nervous said "Yes" :)
I was first to go. First as passenger, and he passed 230 km/h... Suddenly he parked the F, and look at me and said, "Well, then I guess you would like to drive?"
I didn't know what to say, but nervous I said "Yes" :)
I pressed a little on the accelerator, but noting happend...then I pressed a little more, and then it almost took of. It took a little before I got used to the masiv power under my right foot.
BUT WHAT A FEELING! Driving through the town, hearing the motor working...uuuuh...It was a bit hard to drive, I dont know why, but there were so many new things to think about and to look at. And most...there were so many things to enjoy! I was driving 15-20 minuts, TOO SHORT, I could have been driving for days.
When we were driving back home, my dads Toyota felt very slow at 170 km/h..

I have only know Michael since May... I have known who he was, but never talked with him. Then an another friend (also an F owner) told Michael about us, and about our web-site, which he like a lot, and then I met him at an event, and then he invided us.
Oh, I could sleep, but I was thinking...a lot! ;) And could not understand, that I earlyer that day had driven a Ferraru 360 Modena.
You can finde some pics at www.weloveferrari.dk where you will see the 360 Modena and other pictures from Racing9000, AND a Ferrari 360 Challenge driving - yes, at 360 CHALLENGE on the motorway!!!!
They had to drive 100 km, to test the motor. So they took it for a ride on the motorway!! CRAZY, but fun! ;-

They have an even bigger truck for their 4 challenge cars. The little one is for tyres and tools and so on.
And yes, it's a real racing bike. It's faster than the Enzo (a friend of Michael has an Enzo!! 1 of 3 in Denmark! ;)
so riding a bike can be exiting and more... but most fun with cars you are supposed to have at smaller roads as well where the max speed allowance is mostly far less than 100 km/hr with nice cornering etc. There I often succeed in making people that I overtook (driving fridge's and washing machines) to flash at me, I guess because they enjoyed themselves or will it be because of the pollution....
To be honest I do not dare to drive that fast as you all seem to do on the motorway's in the country of Koos Spee since I have the feeling that he is too close anyway to me in this country.
Last weekend I had a fantastic time steering 45 minutes with my 155 1.6 on the TT circuit, only little power but much fun!!
O.k. my max speed estimates:
GTV6 215 km/h in Germany early ninetees
308GTB 220 km/h, in Belgium
AlfaSZ 230 km/h, in Belgium
328GTS 200 km/h in.......... the Netherlands (o.k. just 1 time i did it

It was not full throtle, but not much more left either.
Oh yeah... in Germany... fully legal... :

246 on the Tom-Tom at the Oberhausen straight, in the 328, roof up . The dial in the car was on 258, ore something, but 246 was the exact speed, but even in Germany it is more difficult evry year to reach these speeds, speed limits, other traffic and so on. The Tom-Tom asked at this speed twice if I would be connected to the computer...Too fast for the Tom-Tom?
The Tom-Tom asked at this speed twice if I would be connected to the computer...Too fast for the Tom-Tom??
I think so, haha a Tom-Tom is a good thing but it can't do everything as you see now, but it is nice that you can see the speed on the Tom-Tom, that speed is the right I think. Because it navigates by satalites.
Greets, Marce
I use my tomtom to drive in Finland from nowhere to nowhere and she works without any mistake and is great company. Speeds are however irrelevant as you can not overtake and the legal limit is 80 km/hr at natinal roads
OK is it 61 MPH equals 100 KMPH?
If that's the case had a customers 550 Marenello at 230KMPH. ( very illegal here)
Was a passenger in a Nissan 300Zx twin turbo at 270 KMPH.
Ran a Lola 95/20 Indy Lights car (similar to GP2) at 295 KMPH.
Now I am older and slower

340 on a motorbike o my god the fast
.
I had a joint sprint with Henkie (most of you probably know him) in his 360 Modena last May in Germany. He had to let me go above 280km/h. At 303 on the dial I backed off because trucks were coming up. The car wanted to go on.... Rock steady she was.
But to be honest just going fast in a straight line doesn't really interest me all that much.
I had more fun at 200 - 230km/h dicing with Franc's 308 in Italy on the way to lake Garda, a day later. That was a nice drive, Franc.
