View Full Version : Denmark: Any Ferrari/car places of interest overthere?
BTW, I am planning to go to Denmark this months for a couple of days. Any Ferrari/car places of interest overthere? :)
Well, I don't have luck in love, so......maybe I should try....
- maybe I should have played last week 58.000.000 DKR (about 8.000.0000 € i think) was in the funds! That could have been to one or two F's, even whit the danish taxes! ;)

Well...not realy...
If I was you, I would go to Denmark in the begining of August... Go to Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix.
The first weekend in august, the 4. to the 6., in Copenhagen. Once again they will celebreate the 60th anniversary, and they are trying to get a lot af the oltimers to Denmark, and expect a lot of the owners from Denmark will go there, whit there Ferraris.
More informations about the event on http://www.chgp.dk/
I'll be there, hope to see you!
And to all other - think about it! Without doubt - it will not be that big as it was i Maranello! We are talking about DK! ;
Thanks, found that via google already but unfortunately I can not make it. Found some car museums as well and the Danish concessionairs so maybe I visit one of those.

Where in Denmark do you plan to go?
I don't know, if it is possible to get inside, by Ferrari Denmark. Normaly it isn't, the door is locked...
But they have got a new owner, and has become more friendly, sॠmaybe there is a chance... I can ask them, if you want to?
I know them a littel - They gave me ticket to enter Pista di Fiorano i Maranello! :

Well, I will probably go to Seeland and was wandering if there is some interesting stuff there. It is very nice of you to ask, but it is not necessary for me to visit them if it is not possible. Since I did not notice anything classic on their website I can live with not going there. But anyway, if I happen to drive by them, I definately have to stop there and peak through the window of course ;)
Do you know whether these museums are interesting?:

I probably can have one day for one of these, otherwise my girlfriend won't like me anymore :) And maybe needless to say but: I DON'T WANT THAT :

Are you only looking for Ferraris, or is it cars generally?
No, Ferrari Denmark dosen't have anything special - they are parked in the basement, and are customers cars (Yellow Enzo, a old 250 Boano, a red F50 and som others...)
After they got new owner there is almost outsold of Ferraris! ;)
Then there is www.prestigecars.dk, in Jutland (where I live) - but this is also a closed store, where only serious buyers can come. Ownet by "KaffeKaj" - "CoffeeKaj"! An older man, driving a red beautiful F 275 GTB, and owner of Peter Larsens Coffee!
Looking for Ferraris - then Denmark is a very bad choice...
"Janteloven" - which says
!!Don't think you are better than other!!
!!Don't think you are anything!!
And so on...
And also the danish taxes causes that Ferrari are a special car in Denmark... Just a pleasure rich people can have...
A bit difficult to explain in english! ;
Well, nothing in particular but if there is anything interessting on cars I would visit it (like a nice museum). Here in the Netherlands it is a bit like Denmark I guess, but enthousiasts are welcome anywhere I suppose.
Thanks agai
Back from Denmark and found this interesting one (and visited it in the process ;)): http://www.vedstaarup.dk/bil/index.html

I read on their homepage, that they have started a new show in 2007, but until then, they've had 2 or 3 Ferraris, a 512 TR and a 250 GTO Replika and one more i think, and to drive about 200 km to see them, well...a long way, when I already have seen a lot 512 TR's and in 2004 i saw my first real 250 GTO!
That's my best excuse! ;

Taxes in Denmark are high, VERY high!
If you buy a Ferrari (or an antoher car) in Denmark you pay the cars price, maybe 10.000 €, and if you want to drive it, you have to "buy numberplates", which cost the double of the cars value, 20.000 €!
1 € is about 7,5 danich crowns.
To buy a Ferrari F430 i DK will cost 3.800.000 danish crows whit the plates, but you can buy the same car i Sweden to 1.200.000 danish crows, also whit plates.
The Enzo would cost about 10.000.000 - 15.000.000 danish crows on numperplates - thats why none of the three in Denmark are on numperplates! ;
Yes the 250 GTO is a replica (based on a 330 GT), just like the Aston DBR2, Jaguar D-type, Jaguar C-type and Mercedes 500K. But there are at least five Ferraris now and a Lambo Miura, three original James Bond cars (DB5, V8 and Vanquish!), Bentley GT, and several others. And when I visited it, there will still 20 cars missing from the entire collection. I am told this is the largest private collection in Denmark. Pics later tonight

As promised the pics.
We went to Denmark on Tuesday night and took the boat to Faborg. Since we had been driving for about seven-eight hours my girlfriend wanted to find a camping near Faborg and in a book she found one near by. The original plan was to go to Seeland, but that plan had changed. So we enter the camping shop and in a column of flyers one has a Ferrari Logo on it. I became happy :) but when I read the opening times I became sad: Only four days a year on Tuesday's. The day before was one of them, the next Tuesday another. Unfortunately we had to be back in the Netherlands on.... Tuesday's :( I read the leaflet I think about four times and was thinking how unlucky I was. But Danish looks a little bit like Dutch and I thought it said 'open by appointment for other interested'. In the mean time I got used to the kindness of the Danish, they make you feel very welcome. So I gave it a shot and took the telephone and called them. Within two minutes it was arranged and I could visit the collection. So me and my girlfriend visited it while nobody watched us (I think they might have video equipment but I did not notice it). Imagine: walking around a private collection from a foreigner abroad who did not even met you until you were there! When the door opened my girlfriend thought I was about to cry, because all I could say was 'wow', and 'amazing' for several minutes. She didn't understand it and never will ;) But check http://www.vedstaarup.dk/bil/index.html for more details and some of my pics follow.
Enjoy
and then you drive away, wandering about the why, the how etc. Maybe 15 minutes later we were touring as a tourist again and then suddenly on the side of the road: a classic Ferrari!!! So I immediately drove to it at a garage which turned out to be this one: www.classicsportscar.dk
How lucky can you be??? :

Niels: what a fantastic story!! Amaaaazing. You have been só tremendously lucky, unbelievebel. Of all the places in Denmark, you choose a camping, wit a shop, and a colomn, with a few leaflets, closed, but you think it says; open on appointment, and you end up in THIS??? You must have felt nailed to the ground over there. And justified. I cannot understand, how one person, has só much money that he doesn't know what to do with it, and buy cars like it are 'suske & wiskes''. Men-o-men, what a collection!! Amazing. Respect for the owner. He must be a tremendous car-lover.
And than another f-classic with 2 others, immediately stopping, after het visited a hall of 40 cars and spent howlong?? Your girlfriend must become nuts of you sometimes? :D :D. I feel sorry for her! :D. But we are very lucky that you experienced this; beautiful pics!!
I dont know much about cars, but is that a 300 sl mercedes ?? with the wing-doors??? And real James Bond cars...! waauw. Amazing, amazing, amazing! You have had a fantastic day niels! Must have felt like a little discovery-journey-adventure
Here own fault, she wanted to go to that camping site ;) And I think she found it a bit interesting anyway. If not, she never saw me this impressed I think ;) And yes, I had to promise not to visit any other car museums there (actually I said I wouldn't but there were several more in the region like a Skoda museum and an European car museum :)) Oh and indeed it is a genuine 300 SL 'gullwing'. A very nice car, but if you visit the Oldtimer Gp at the N'ring or the Techno Classica in Essen they are the 'suske & wiskes' so many of them are around.

And I think she found it a bit interesting anyway. If not, she never saw me this impressed I think ;) Of course, i simply cannot imagine that she wouldn't have liked it; anyone, even a little child could immediately tell, that it was something extraordinary there in that hall, beautifully done. Even if you don't like cars, you must liked it. Al least it is interesting to see, how cars have evolved over so many years
