On serveral Ferrari sites there has been writen a lot about the repair and restauration of electric windows of Ferrari 308/328.
I've overhauld mine 2 years ago, you know put new grease in the gearbox and so.
Although they worked again i was never really satisfied with the performance.
One solution is to put in a stronger motor.
A few days ago my right hand window refused to go up or down.
A good reason to take it all apart.
I found no electical problem, so it had to be the motor.
I've taken the motor off the transmision.
On the workbench i found that it had siesed cause of a little rust.
I saw that i could take the motor apart with ease, just 2 bolts to unscrew.
Put the rotor in the vice and pull it out with the carbonbrushes.
I've cleaned the inside en put a dab of rollerbearing grease in the bearings.
Put it back together and resoldered the wires so there would be a good connection.
Put it back in the car, regreased the cablerollers
Now i've never had the window go up or down this fast.
It worked so well that i've done the same with the drivers side.
This one worked but really slowly, now it goes down with speed, up a little slower but i'm really glad with it.
To do both windows has taken me 4 hours on one evening
