View Full Version : Ferraris you have driven
I've been lucky to drive numerous customer Ferraris, 550 Marinello, 512 TR, 430 Spyder, 348 TB, Daytona Spyder, 512 BB, 360 Modena and 456. Out of these my favorites were the 550 and the 430 Spyder. The 550 had the most power of any street car I've been in, while the 430 was the most fun.Opinions

I can imagine that Morten!:) The F40, what a Machine. I took a very very short ride in a Ferrari 348 and Testarossa. This 2 times where so short that driven isn't the word for it.....But I was behind the wheel and made them drive:)
I have been a co-driver in a 348TB, 328GTS, 328GTB, MondialT Cabriolet and a Ferrari Testarossa. Four of them was in one day with a F-Chat meeting:)

I've driven 360 Modena F1 and a 348 ts. It is difficult to compare these cares, one with manuel gear and one whit F1 gear. The 360 I drove was in the city, and therefore it most of the time was on automatic gear, and I had no opportunity to press the pedal to the medal! ;) But a fantastik car, and what a sound, when your are driving to a traffic light, and gears down... Uuuh!
The 348 ts drove I on the motorway, and it was with manual gear, so I had a bit more work to do, but it was nice... I was driving 220 km/h... Also a fantastik experience.
I've been co-driver in 308 gtb, 328 GTS - a couple of times - 2 x 348 ts - 355 Challenge, 355 GTS, 355 Spider F1, 360 Modena, 360 Modena F1 and F430 Spider F1..

2002 was the year of my first real F-experience: driving a 348 TB of my friend! something I will never forget.
after that a drove it a couple of times more which was an aboslute thrill!
During a Ferrari-club meeting in Achterveld (holland) i was able to grab the steering wheel of a F355. This car I found a lot easier to drive and handle than the 348.
In 2006 my friend (348) bought a 360 Modena F1 instead.
Of course he allowed me to drive this little devil too!
What a ride it was!!!!! my first time driving a Ferrari with F1 gearbox AND being able to set my new topspeed record at 275km/h!!!!!
Now I am waiting for the oppurtunity driving the 360 successor: the F430.....:D
Other than this I was also copilot in a 308 GT/4, Mondial 8, 365 GTC 2+2, 328 GTS, 512 TR, Testarossa and of course both the 348 and 360

Hi,just joined. I am "tongascrew". About driving these cars I had a 328GTS for several years in Italy. All I can say if you haven't driven a Ferrari in Italy you must do this. Follow parts of the Mille Miglia or the Targa Florio or the Dolomite Rally. Just stay out of the cities and off the autostradas as much as possible. Be careful going thru the towns but once out on the country roads......! It is the GREAT ego trip and you won't forget it.Only the Italians build roads like these and the cars to drive on them. just one man's opinion tongascrew

Together with my uncle i had driven a Ferrari F430 Spider.
Unfortunately I was not behind the wheel.
As a very young man(23) I purchased this factory competition car in 1965. This was the last year for front engine V-12 competition cars. It had 6 weber 38dcn dual choke carbs under the plexiglas hood cover. The V-12 was connected to the De dion rear axle thru a 5 speed ZF gear box.
Spartan in its interior appointments, exposed space tube frame members, Nardi steering wheel, large tachometer with red tell tale needle, no speedometer. 2 windscreens a very low screen and a GT touring screen. The main rear deck lid had a single drivers headrest and the larger Gt deck had a headrest accross the entire car with luggage space and an onboard spare wheel. Gt cars at the time were requiredBorani unpolished wire wheels with aluminum rims. The reason for the unpolished steel spokes was they were less likely to be brittle and snap under the stress of competition.
This is an all out competition car that Phil Hill drove at Sebring in 1959. I remember driving this car on the streets of Seattle, the engine noise, the vibrations, the incredible acceleration(for those days 1965). It was a great rush to fire this car up and drive it around town. I sold this Ferrari on the early 1970's and bought my first house. Bruce McCaw purchased this same Ferrari a few years back for 4.5 million US dollars. Hmm guess I sold a bit to early.

If it don't fit, force it, it if breaks, it needed replacement anyway.
Friends don't let friends use Framm filters on their Ferrari

First let me welcome you on this site. That's a very nice first Ferrari you bought!!! Did you sell it to buy your first house?? Don't you ever regret that decision?? :D. If you have any pictures of this or the other F's please post them if you like, we love pics!! Much pleasure roaming on this site and feel free to post anytime. Gruezi Ed.
I did sell this car to purchase our first house. Regrets, yes and no, would still love to own this incredible piece of Ferrari competition history. If I still owned this car it would increase my net wealth and be sold someday after I would be no longer interested in its ownership.
On a whole I did own this incredible car and enjoyed it to the fullest. It's present owner has added this T/R to his collection of racing T/R's and has taken incredible care of it. So I'm pleased its in such fine hands. I do have a photo of this car when I tracked it many years ago. I will try and get it copied and post here.
